Timor Leste celebrates 10 years of Independence

As a lead up to the celebration on 20th May of ten years of Independence in Timor Leste, and the Inauguration of the new President, celebrations have been taking place across the country. On Friday 18th the Peace Torch was carried through Baucau by a series of runners on its journey across Timor. The local primary schools celebrated with novelty events before the arrival of the torch and visiting dignitaries.

Pictured are students preparing for the sack race and the concentration involved in the egg and marble race.
